MASTERFAB   PRO

FOCUSED ON ADVANCED FABRICATION

SESSION 1

Advanced Fabrication & Live Trunk Build

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This first session focuses on the why and how behind modern automotive interior design. You’ll learn how elite fabrication shops move from ideas to executable plans using a hybrid approach that blends traditional craftsmanship with digital precision. We’ll break down how to conceptualize interior layouts, validate designs before material is ever cut, and create workflows that eliminate guesswork while increasing consistency and profitability.

You’ll see how Router templates, CAD design, Laser cutting, and 3D printing work together not as separate tools, but as a unified system. This session establishes the foundation for smarter planning, cleaner execution, and scalable results that attract high-end clientele and protect margins.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • How to conceptualize an interior design and translate ideas into a buildable,
    repeatable plan

  • Blending traditional templates with CAD design to reduce guesswork and material waste

  • When and how to leverage CNC, laser cutting, and 3D printing within an interior workflow

  • Creating panel layouts for accurate multi-layer construction

  • Designing for depth, dimension, and serviceability before fabrication begins

  • Workflow strategies used by high-end shops to increase efficiency and profitability

  • How to plan interiors that support premium pricing and consistent results

Friday 8:00am - 9:15am  |  Saturday 8:00am - 9:15am

INSTRUCTORS: CHRIS PATE, JUSTIN KUSH, & PHIL CANTU

SESSION 2

Advanced Fabrication & Live Trunk Build (Part 2)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The second session brings everything to life with a full-scale trunk build executed live. You’ll watch multi-layer interior panels come together using advanced routing techniques, panel contouring, aluminum inserts, lighting integration, and modern material combinations. Every step is demonstrated in real time, showing how top-tier builders achieve depth, dimension, and precision without adding unnecessary labor.

This session focuses on real-world fabrication strategies…seaming materials with hidden magnet systems, applying next-level vinyl embossing, executing technical vinyl wrapping, and integrating LED lighting that adds impact without complexity. You’ll leave with proven techniques you can apply immediately to elevate your builds, shorten production time, and deliver interiors that look engineered, intentional, and worth premium pricing.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • Step-by-step execution of a full live trunk build, from layout to final assembly

  • Advanced router and 3D routing techniques, including panel contouring and
    shadow-effect detailing

  • Efficient construction of multi-layer interior panels without trial-and-error

  • How to fabricate and finish aluminum inserts, including surface treatment
    options

  • Professional methods for seaming vinyl, suede, and carpet using hidden
    magnetic systems

  • LED lighting integration techniques that add impact without overcomplication

  • New vinyl embossing methods to personalize and elevate interior designs

  • Technical vinyl wrapping strategies using time-saving tools and prep methods

Friday 9:30am - 10:45am  |  Saturday 9:30am - 10:45am

INSTRUCTORS: CHRIS PATE, JUSTIN KUSH, & PHIL CANTU

SESSION 3

Advanced Custom Console Design & Fabrication

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is dedicated to the design and construction of full-featured custom
automotive consoles. Whether your goal is a clean, OEM-inspired center console or a
bold, high-end showpiece, this class delivers the real-world processes, tools, and
design strategies used in today’s top-tier builds.
This immersive, hands-on style training walks students through the complete workflow
from concept and ergonomics to structural fabrication, electronics integration, and
finish-ready construction. Attendees will learn how to design and build consoles from
scratch using router-based fabrication, advanced template techniques, 2D & 3D CAD
workflows, laser cutting, integrated lighting, and upholstery-friendly construction
methods. Every step is demonstrated using the same proven techniques applied in
award-winning vehicles, ensuring results that are functional, repeatable, and profitable.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • Design principles and ergonomic planning for functional, driver-focused center
    consoles

  • Advanced construction techniques using MDF, ABS, and composite materials

  • Template routing methods that improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency

  • Professional hidden fasteners and panel retention systems

  • Seamless integration of switches, cup holders, charging docks, lighting, and
    electronics

  • Custom trim panels and armrest fabrication designed for clean upholstery wrap and final finish

Friday 11:00am - 12:15am  |  Saturday 11:00am - 12:15am
