Top Fabricator and Other Winners at MasterTech 2026

At the MasterTech Expo held this weekend, the top fabricator award went to Dave Koz of Titan Motoring, Nashville, TN.  It was one of many awards during the weekend of build-offs, contests and 40 educational sessions.

Dave Koz, winner of the Fabricator of the Year award. He is known for complex, high-end builds that often feature 3D modeling. Andy Wehmeyer, won the Lifetime Achievement award. He is the president of AudioFrog and a 17-year audio veteran at Harman and one of the industry’s foremost DSP experts.

Two standout competitions drew significant attention


The Clean Wire Challenge: over two days, 8 competitors each customized an amp rack, provided by Soundsgoodstereo.com, in just 3.5 hours. Competitors have access to onsite wire, tools, and equipment from several manufacturers including Stinger. Once the competition concludes, all amp racks are displayed for attendees to vote on. The MasterTech Build Off: sponsored by Rockford Fosgate, two teams competed to build the most impressive subwoofer box over 7 hours. Details includes trim panels, lighting, and the fine installation finishes that only the best of the best would notice. The winner was the Silver Team below:

A special acknowledgment goes to Dalton Trainer (Red Team) and Chris Britton (Silver Team), both under 32 years of age, two young guns making their mark in the industry.
