The Man Behind the M / Barnie Has 2 Ears for Tuning
In this two-part session, the first hour features The Shape of Sound: A Driver Design Presentation by Renowned Audio Engineer Giuliano Nicoletti. Designer of the ‘M’ profile drivers from Focal’s Utopia and K2M Power speaker lines, Nicoletti’s experience in sound engineering spans more than two decades culminating in his current position as Senior Electro Acoustic Engineer at Focal-JMlab. This engaging presentation will focus on the evolution of cone design into its current shape, the selection of materials and the impact of both on the production of quality audio. In the second hour, we introduce B.A.R.N.I.E., the most accurate in-vehicle sound measurement technology available. Barnie simplifies vehicle tuning with ears that hear the way you do, enabling one click to automate time and phase alignment, and equalization.

Worldwide debut of the new Audiotec Fischer DSP PC Tool Software
Florian, the man behind all Audiotec Fischer DSP products will be joined by Julian Fischer to guide you through the new version of DSP PC Tool! Learn why this award-winning software has become the industry reference standard. The new ISA (Input Signal Analyzer) will be covered in-depth; understand how the new feature set will help you measure and correct OEM phase EQ, time alignment and loudness contours. Tired of not understanding why some OEM source units just never seem to properly interface with your system design? Florian will present a live demonstration of how a Class SB output, as found on many of todays new vehicle audio systems, wreak havoc on most high level input circuitry and how Audiotec Fischer avoids these problems. We will also demonstrate how our amplifier power supply design differs from the norm. You will leave this session with a better understanding of OEM audio systems, and how to incorporate Audiotec Fischer’s tools to confidently integrate into these systems!

Making and Understanding Acoustic Measurements in Cars
Single mic? Multi-mic? Moving Mic? All three of these are ways to measure the performance of car audio systems during a tuning process. Learn about the differences and why each of them exist. Learn when to use each one and why. How about choosing a mic? What do I need to know? Should it point up or forward? How much do I really need to spend on a mic? How about phase? We’ll also cover making and interpreting impulse response measurements and phase measurements. The information presented here will be applicable no matter which microphone arrangement or analysis program you choose to use!
