Session 1
Course Name: Intro to 3D Design
Instructor: TBD
Course Details
Every great vehicle build starts with a concept followed by an intentional design. Learn the principles of what constitutes good design in both Classic and Modern themes. Understand the process of sketching out a design on paper and transferring that to a digital sketch with easy-to-use software. Watch presenter Tom Miller show his process and present the details of why each element has a purpose in the overall design influence. Lots of Pro Tips to gather in this exciting design-focused session that set you up for the subsequent Digital Design & Automation sessions!
What you will learn:
• Conceptual design influences – easy-to-understand principles
• Design process – importance of having a plan
• Sketching a design – where it all begins
• Paper sketch to digital sketch – what’s the process?
• Console design/rendering overview
• Design themes – Classic versus Modern
• Pro Tips

Session 2
Course Name: 3D Scanning
Instructor: TBD
Course Details
This course is all about reverse engineering a part based on 3D scanning of the vehicle’s surfaces to modify or integrate into. Using a real-world example, watch and learn as the instructors perform a 3D scan on a vehicle interior sail panel and modify the surface data to accept the design or speaker opening desired. This training session covers the whole process from start to finish on scanning the vehicle surfaces or panels. The next course in the lineup presents bringing the scan data into 3D CAD programs to modify the design to meet the fabricated part’s design criteria.

Session 3
Course Name: Part Design
Instructor: TBD
Course Details
Take a deep dive into the 2D and 3D design program, Fusion 360, with the Autodesk Gold Partner experts Phil Butterworth and Jon Caliguri. Learn how to begin and work on a solid modeling design to optimize outcomes once the finished part is created. Discover secrets to enhance the strength and, in some cases, weight savings of specific materials to create more OEM-quality parts. Learn how to create efficient CNC toolpaths, how to manage data in the cloud, output G-code (machine language) to the equipment and much more. A robust Q&A along with many Pro Tips are included. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a trial-period on their own Fusion 360 software package following the event.
What you will learn:
• Getting started with Fusion 360 – Core Items
• Advantages of designing digitally from step one
• Solid modeling process and techniques
• Creating toolpaths for speed versus finish quality
• G-code conversion for machine language
• Many Pro Tips with robust Q&A

Session 4
Course Name: 3D Printing
Instructor: TBD
Course Details
Learn the ins and outs of 3D printing including materials, machines, and settings to get the best parts. A natural step up from 2D CAD/CAM automation is graduating to 3D modeling and machinery to create complete 3D parts (or sections of parts). This is common in rapid prototyping and saves hours of failed design attempts once the principles are understood and implemented effectively. Learn about the use of 3D scanning technology to capture real-time dimensional data from a vehicle or individual parts. Apply these tools and processes in your own small-batch production for highly customized solutions your clientele will simply not find elsewhere! Pro Tips from seasoned experts are a big part of this session!
